Real Time PCR
In HelixLab Molecular Laboratory, Real Time PCR techniques and related molecular analyses are used to support research and development projects. Main applications:
- Real Time PCR: A method that enables real-time monitoring of the PCR process and quantification using fluorescent molecules.
- Gene Expression Analysis: Comparison of gene expression levels between normal and diseased tissues.
- Allelic Discrimination: A multiplex PCR method using multiple primers and probes per reaction to distinguish between different alleles.
- Bioinformatics: Methods for storage, processing, analysis, management, and reporting of biological and genetic data.
- SNP and Mutation Analysis: Identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms and permanent changes in DNA or RNA sequences; critical for hereditary diseases and cancer research.
PCR
An enzymatic amplification method for the specific region between two known DNA segments.
Western Blot
An analytical technique widely used for identification of specific proteins in tissue homogenates or extracts.
Gene Cloning
The process of obtaining multiple copies of a desired gene within host cells.
Protein Studies
Analysis of protein structure, quantity, and function using in vitro methods.
Gel Electrophoresis
A molecular examination method used to determine the molecular weight, quantity, and subtypes of purified nucleic acids and proteins.
Genome Editing (CRISPR-Cas9, Knock Out - Knock In)
An advanced molecular biology application that enables insertion, deletion, or substitution of nucleotides in the genome of living organisms.
CRISPR-Cas9, known as the "technology that can perform surgery on DNA," gained prominence with the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. This technology enables fast, low-cost, and highly accurate edits in DNA sequences.
